I cannot help the way I am

I am ill but am still the same person,
don’t lose your patience with me,
I have learned so much in my life
but there is so much I don’t recall
i know it’s in there somewhere but
its hard is to find it all, it does
not mean I have forgotten you ,
do not lose your patients with me,
do not cry, curse or shout at me,
I cannot help the way I walk or talk
just remember that I need your help,
know that the best of me is gone
